Matthew McAvene is a highly prolific musical and visual artist with outstanding versatility. After years of travel and self education, he has arrived in Santa Barbara as artist, father and visionary, dedicated to the creation of positive and lasting change in the global community. As an inventor, producer, painter, musician, sculptor, writer and designer, he is sure to be one of the world's most prolific artists, held in high regard. McAvene's work is vast in style, ranging from primitive to realist.

Simplifying his outer life so he could focus on inner development, McAvene lived in a small camper van for six years, while apprenticing with a variety of free thinking artists in Davis, Santa Cruz and Hollywood, CA. Yet, nature remains his greatest influence, God his greatest inspiration. His art is a manifestation of his soul, a process to assist him on the path of self-realization.

He has stretched the limits of his beliefs. He has walked on fire eight times at temperatures over 1100 degrees. He has walked on snow barefoot for six hours, during a seven day fast, in Desolation Wilderness, Lake Tahoe, CA. He experimented tirelessly in a Los Angeles garage, recording songs, painting, sculpting, writing, etc. The conditions were primitive, with a bucket for a toilet and a garden hose for a shower.

McAvene has created an independent record label called "Wizard Records" through which he has recorded over 2000 songs through an intuitive songwriting process he calls the 'One Take Sessions'. Currently a box set compilation of the one take sessions is being developed, entitled 'From Zero to Nothing'. It will be complete with music, stories, photos and more.

The most recent endeavor he is involved with is the production of 'Wasting Time', a 1/2 hour television show about artists and the creative lifestyle. Also, 'Wasting Time TV', a Reality Television Network dedicated to assisting humanity realize their dreams. The Network will undertake producing shows which will uplift human virtue, while promoting products beneficial to the long term well being of all. The Network aims to encourage creativity, compassion and understanding among men, bridging the cultural and financial gaps in the global community.

Undoubtedly, we live in profound times, and there is a great deal of chaos all around us. McAvene's ultimate suggestion is simply to look within, to the human soul which offers limitless compassion, empathy, wisdom and knowledge, certainly enough to get us through the present predicament we are in, the human experience.
